Accessibility of the Everguide iOS App
Scope
This report concerns the Everguide iOS Navigator App (Version 4.3.2) of the project everguide Indoor-Navigation.
The assessment is based on § 12b of the Disability Equality Act (BGG) in conjunction with the Accessibility Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0). The applicable standard is EN 301 549 V3.2.1, Chapter 11 (Software).
Status of Compliance with Requirements
The Everguide iOS App is partially compliant with BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549.
There are good foundations in dynamic font size adjustment, localized accessibility labels, and VoiceOver-aware speech output. However, there are critical gaps, particularly in the accessibility of interactive elements via assistive technologies.

Non-Accessible Content
The following content is currently not fully accessible:
Map View
The map view does not have a contextual text alternative (building and floor information). The “Center Map” button is not accessible to VoiceOver. A long press on the map cannot be triggered via VoiceOver.
Accessible Alternative — The app provides a special arrow view with audio speech output that allows complete navigation without the map view. This view is automatically activated when VoiceOver is turned on.
Floor Selection
The floor cells are not exposed as buttons for VoiceOver. Label and state information (current floor, target floor) are missing.
Elevator Icon
The elevator icon has an incorrect deactivation trait and lacks a text alternative.
Environmental Alerts
Images and buttons for environmental alerts do not have text alternatives. There is no screen reader announcement upon display.
Labeling of Interactive Elements
Several interactive elements are not adequately labeled: Switches in settings, the volume control, and the download button in the building list do not have explicit accessibility labels. The version notice in settings is not marked as a link.
Color Contrasts
Some elements do not meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1.
Reduced Motion
Animations do not consider the system setting “Reduce Motion”.
Creation of this Statement
This statement was created on April 6, 2026.
The assessment is based on a self-assessment through code audit against the requirements of EN 301 549 V3.2.1 Chapter 11.
