Accessibility of the Everguide Android App
Scope
This report concerns the Everguide Android Navigator App (Version 3.0.0) of the project everguide Indoor-Navigation.
The assessment is based on § 12b of the Disability Equality Act (BGG) in conjunction with the Accessibility Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0). The applicable standard is EN 301 549 V3.2.1, Chapter 11 (Software).
Status of Compliance with Requirements
The Everguide Android App is partially compliant with BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549.
The app provides basic operability via TalkBack, an alternative arrow view with acoustic signals for visually impaired users, as well as localizations in 18 languages. However, there are limitations regarding text size adjustment, orientation, keyboard operability, and contrasts.

Measures Already Implemented
| Measure | Status |
|---|---|
| TalkBack operability of the app | Implemented |
| Arrow view as an alternative to map navigation | Implemented |
| Acoustic signals for navigation hints | Implemented |
| 18 language localizations including RTL (Arabic, Farsi) | Implemented |
| Design4all concept for understandable German texts | Implemented |
Non-Accessible Content
The following content is currently not fully accessible:
Map View
The map view is not usable for blind and severely visually impaired individuals. The visual map representation cannot be read by assistive technologies.
Accessible Alternative — The app offers a special arrow view with acoustic signals that allows for complete navigation without the map view. This view is automatically activated when TalkBack is turned on.
Text Size Adjustment
When increasing the system font size, display issues occur with some elements. Texts may be cut off or displayed overlapped.
Orientation
The app cannot be used in landscape mode in all views.
Disproportionate Burden — The limitation to portrait mode is technically conditioned during active navigation, as the map and arrow views are optimized for portrait display.
Keyboard Operability
Operation via an external keyboard is not consistently available.
Accessible Alternative — Full operation of the app is possible via TalkBack gestures. The use of an external keyboard in a mobile navigation app does not correspond to the expected user behavior.
Color Contrasts
The contrast ratios of some decorative elements (e.g. progress indicator in onboarding) as well as non-adjustable elements from third-party libraries (watermarks and copyright notices in the map view) do not meet the minimum requirements of conformity level AA.
Simple Language
Currently, there is no setting for simple German language. However, all German texts are designed to be easily understandable according to the Design4all concept.
Creation of this Statement
This statement was created on April 7, 2026.
The assessment is based on a self-assessment using manual tests (TalkBack) and automated tools (Accessibility Scanner, Android Lint) against the requirements of EN 301 549 V3.2.1 Chapter 11.
